situsanasini kota kinabalu

Travel to Kota Kinabalu with the whole family was awesome, everybody was there including kamilla and tasya. As usual when travel with the two little girls we have to make sure that the itinerary through out the the whole journey was not pack and it has to be as leisure and "chillaxing". Travel to Kota Kinabalu (KK) was plan two months before the departure date. Marina Court (service apartment) was the perfect accommodation in KK simply because the strategic location and the price. At first we plan to book 3 hotel rooms but when we did the calculation plus the long stay for 5 nights was not reasonable for us. Luckily when i was browsing thru the internet, promenade hotel (Marina Court) was having a promotion so that's it.. the price was really reasonable for an apartment with three bedrooms and complimentary of breakfast for 6 person.
We chose Travel Gateway Tours Sdn. Bhd to plan out our tour in KK and at the same time to learn more about local culture. We didn't take any pictures of the apartment including the rooms and the facilities in Marina Court. If you would like to find out more about this service apartment please visit this website http://www.promenadeapartment.com.my/ . Breakfast served was simple and do not expect too much for the menu, all i can say is that the breakfast was ok to me...hehehe but you guys have to come here and check it out for yourself.

3rd day
(4th March 2011)
City tour - Jesselton Point

After having breakfast together... the four of us decided to go and have a walk around city center. Besides sightseeing we are supposed to get ferry tickets to Labuan at Jesselton Point. We walked out from jalan api-api 2 where Marina Court is situated to the big road that is Jalan Tuan Fuad Stephen. Not far from Marina Court we found fruits market and craft center (the locals call it pasar filipinos). On the way to Jesselton Point, we pass by the fish market and shopping complex such as KK Plaza. It was a very hot sunny day..it took us almost 40 minutes to reach Jesselton Point.

Jalan Tun Fuad Stephen, fruits market is just across the road
interesting view.. on the way to jesselton point..waterfront
yeeeeaaaa.... sampai sudah baaa....ferry terminal, Jesselton Point
Ticket counters to Labuan
Departure time from KK ferry terminal (Jesselton Point) to Labuan are only available at 0800 and 1330. If u miss these departure time you will have to wait the next day to travel to Labuan. It will take approximately 3 and half hours to reach Labuan ferry terminal so you might want to plan your trip carefully...i suggest you travel in the morning...so when you get there...is not dark yet... The price of the ticket is RM34.60 one way for one person.

On the wall you can see pictures of Jesselton Points in a different era..
On the way back to Marina Court, we stopped at the fruits market... the fruits are cheap!! the locals are using setompok...for their fruits...sounds funny to me
cuba tengok " SETOMPOK!!!" kat kl kan kita sebut selonggok...pelik bunyinya..

4th day
(5th March 2011)
Marina Court - Kinabalu Park - Poring Hot Spring

The day that everybody was waiting for...one day trip to Kinabalu Park. We start our journey as early as 7am because it will take us around two hours to reach there. Even though it was far, beautiful scenery and fresh air throughout the journey was rewarding. If you suffer from motion sickness i suggest you take your medication before starting the journey.

Mount Kinabalu view from inside the van
We stopped here to take pictures, the best view for picture taking..

There are two trails leads to the top, the Summit trail and Mesilau Route which will meet at Layang-Layang. We are not planning to climb Kinabalu on out trip obviously..heheheh, not fit enough!!.. we will proceed our tour at The Poring Hot Spring for canopy walk and take a break for lunch. Before we leave the Kinabalu Park, we went to the museum to see and learn more about the flora and fauna and people who has been living in Kinabalu for generations and consider themselves as the guardian of Mount Kinabalu. Most of the people living here are the Kadazandusun. They are the Sabah's largest ethnic, most of them are works as a farmer.
here we are...the poring hot spring

On the way to Poring hot spring, houses along the mountain slopes...
We were excited to go for canopy walk, i imagined canopy walk on a hanging bridge would be so much fun..but before going to the fun part, all of us must do a bit of mountain climbing.. surprise!!! we didn't know that......jengjengjeng!!!..... it was only around 500 meters trail upwards but the climbing was challenging to us..hehehe as i mentioned before we were not fit enough for this kind of activities..According to our guide, the trail is exactly the same as the trail that the climbers have to go through if they want to climb to the top of Mt. Kinabalu but this trail are much much shorter..(nasib baik!!) . semput jugak nak naik, but alhamdulillah everybody successfully finished the trail, now come the fun part..canopy walk on a hanging bridge, the walkway is 157.8meter long and 41meter high. We really a had great time.

The trail starts ... everybody was so focus, they didn't even look at the camera!! chaiyo

Besides canopy walk and hot springs, you can also visit the butterfly farm, Orchid conservation centre and tropical garden. Nobody was interested to go for hot springs including me, it was extremely hot sunny day...we walked straight to the restaurant for lunch. Before we can do that, again we have to through the trail but this time was downwards...heheheh...

Kamilla was so exhausted !! "ibu, milla penat..."
After canopy walk.. time for lunch

We stopped whenever we saw fruits stalls, some of the fruits are strange and i have never seen it before..such an experience..priceless..I enjoy eating the pineapple..ada kelas mcm kat hat yai rinduuunyerrr nak makan nenas hat yai!!! We came back to our apartment around 5pm, it was going to get dark soon..and we plan to have seafood for dinner.... Across the road where the fruits market are, at night there will be abundance of stalls selling all kinds of grill seafood........we don't know how to choose...there was a lot to choose from...the picture below will explain what are things that we end up buying...muahhaah!! everybody was really tired and guess what we could not finish it....bazir jeeee..
